Hello and welcome to the Warwicks & Nth Oxfordshire branch of the JEC. We hope that this site will give you a little insight into our region and its activities and that you will be encouraged to come and join us for our monthly meetings (see calendar top right). There is some more detail on some of our activities and also some links to other Jaguar things – so scroll down and enjoy. Do drop me an email or call me if you would like more information. | The Venue:- The Granville @ Barford - Wellesbourne Road Barford CV35 8DS
|
The Granville is easy to find and has a large car-park. It is situated 1 mile from the M40 at junction 15 (Longbridge) where you take the A429 sign-posted to Stow. Turn off the A429 into the village of Barford where you will find the Granville at the furthest end of the village on the right hand side. Visit their website |
 | Our Programme - currently confirmed dates are included in the box at the top right. We will keep any changes up to date on this site so please come back and check! And don't forget do email or call for any further information.
Some examples of events:
 |
Coventry Festival of Motoring: We are planning to return to this event again for 2009 (1st weekend of September). We are hoping to have this year's JEC Raffle Car available to raise funds for the chosen JEC charity. To many this event is still remembered as the 'Coventry Shakespeare Run'. Some 300 plus cars take part in the event which is now organised by the Coventry Museum of Transport. In 2006 we were invited to put on a display in which we featured a number of Jaguar sports cars. There were many hundreds of visitors with our stand attracting a lot of attention during the day. More pictures at this link |
Legends Racing: Through our friend Melvin Glanz Legends at Bourton-on-the-Water has become a favourite visit. There are often various Jaguars to be seen on sale or in preparation and of course they are sales agents fot the Proteus(previously Enduro) C-type which they are selling - we were able to have one of the cars on our stand at the Coventry Festival of Motoring which created a lot of interest - for more pictures at Legends have a look in the picture gallery - if you want to visit their web-site then go to this link |

Weekend Away: A weekend away has become a must for a number of members. This year our erstwhile organisers Peter & Maggie took us on a Spring Weekend break to the Derbyshire Peak District where we stayed at the Peveril of the Peak hotel near Ashbourne. We were somewhat surprised by the mixture of weather from snow to sunshine. Have a look at the pictures at this link. If you would like to see some pictures from a previous trip to Wales then visit this gallery. |
Skittles Night: We try to include an evening of fun and games each year. For a couple of years this has been in the form of a skittles evening at the Stoneleigh Deer Park Golf Club. This year we will be having a summer's evening event at the Farrier's Arms in Todenham with games of Aunt Sally - if you want to know what this is about then have a look at this site. Good fun with a bit of competitive edge thrown in! Some more pictures of our skittles evening at this link |

Institute of Advanced Motorists: The JEC has a link with the IAM and having completed the course successfully I can defintiely recommend it to you - it makes you a better driver however good you may think you are. I still have some leaflets or you can visit the IAM web-site and there is also a web-site for the Coventry and District Group. |
 |
Have a look at some of our members' cars in our Members Photo Gallery - there are pictures of past and currently owned cars with a few details on each. There are still some missing so if yours is not showing then email a picture to Peter Purdom and he will get it included in the rogues' gallery.
| Other JEC Events will be featured at this link Interesting Video Links: Radio Controlled B29 - If like me you enjoy aircraft as well as motor cars then have a look at the amazing footage of the radio-controlled B29 bomber complete with X1 rocket jet, retracting undercarriage and ejecting pilots. Go to this link (don't forget to turn up the sound!) Tour of Goodwood House - now this is a very different way to visit a stately home - the British trials champion takes you on a tour of the house on his bike! - Go to this link
